One real night on the coast of Khao Lak, Thailand: waves on the shore as the moon sets into the Andaman Sea. Twelve hours for sleep.
The sound was recorded on the beach, beneath the sea wall, on the night of 18 October 2026. Waves carry the whole night, with insects low behind them.
Passing boats, a motorcycle and distant fireworks were replaced with nearby sound from the same night. The highs are strongly softened for sleep, so the waves sit deeper and the insects further back.
The first nine hours and fifty minutes run as the night did, from about seven in the evening to ten to five. The last part, a little over two hours, repeats earlier sound from that night, joined with a slow crossfade.
